Buried underground 30 years ago, signs of damage were present on the inner surface of a concrete sewer line passing through the three suburbs of Smyrna, Georgia, United States, using composite materials to create conditions that could replace destructive processes. The traditional solution was to dig out the old pipe to lay the new pipe in this digging trench, but it was the most economical to build a new pipe in the old pipe according to Cullman’s Curtman South East Infrastructure System (SIS). According to Giddens, a new tube is constructed using in-place cured polyester resin composites. The composite manufacturing process begins with a felt tube, impregnated with a polyester resin. Turn the tube upside down (turn it inside out) through the original sewage access opening
