新都地处川西平原,境内水系发达,气候温和,降水充沛,自然地理环境优越,自古以来就适合人类生存繁衍,其境内拥有众多的先秦遗址。20世纪50年代末,四川省博物馆文物工作队就对新繁水观音遗址进行了试掘~([1])。近二十年来,在配合基本建设的考古勘探中,又发现有大丰镇方营村商周遗址~([2])、斑竹园镇忠义社区新石器时代遗址~([3])、红光电子管厂商代溃址~([4])、桂林乡五四村商代遗址~([5])、新都镇正因村商
