The “Marxist historiography from a global perspective” originated from the discussion of the historiographic theory group at the 2010 International Congress of Historiography. Some of the papers were subsequently published in the Journal of Historiography, and then Wang Qingjia and Iggers invited to participate in the discussion The author collaborates with some other scholars to compile this book. Although the academic achievements in the study of Marxist historiography have been abundant, the editor confidently declares that this book is the first one to examine the impact of Marxist historiography from a global perspective. The decline of the international communist movement since 1989 has put the Marxist historiography in a serious challenge. Has history ended? Did Marxist history come to an end? The book gives a negative answer. It holds that it is now time for a comprehensive assessment of the legacy of Marxism in the compilation of history and history.
