SMEs are the backbone of the country. Concern: Liu Jianjin, executive chairman of the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Economic Ministers’ Forum Forum, believes that the successful experience of some developed countries shows that successful SMEs are the backbone of a country’s economy. According to authoritative statistics, at present, SMEs have occupied an important position among APEC members. 95% of companies in the Asia-Pacific region are SMEs, employing 80% of the labor force, accounting for 30%-60% of GNP and 35% of total exports. Liu Shengjin said that in the era of rapid economic globalization and informationization, a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises continue to emerge, and they face the same unprecedented opportunities and challenges as large companies. China is about to join the World Trade Organization. How Chinese companies can rapidly improve their competitiveness is a topic that needs to be seriously addressed.
