在英语学习的听、说、读、写四种技能中,阅读是“接触英语、吸收语言材料,获得感性认识的最主要的途径”。阅读是英语综合实力的表现,它集语法、词汇、速度、准确度、思维和背景文化等于一体。阅读是积极理解和接受信息的复杂的心理语言活动过程。根据古德曼的理论,阅读理解是语言知识和人脑中的各种知识共同作用的结果,因此也是一种复杂的智力活动。阅读技能的提高对其他三种技能有着“纲举目张”的作用。著名学者柯鲁克先生曾一再主张把英语的大量阅读当作英语教学的主要手段。
Among the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English, reading is “the most important way to get in touch with English, absorb the language materials, and acquire perceptual knowledge.” Reading is the performance of English comprehensive strength, which combines grammar, vocabulary, speed, accuracy, thinking and background culture equal to one. Reading is a complex mental language activity that actively understands and accepts information. According to Goodman’s theory, reading comprehension is the result of a combination of linguistic knowledge and various kinds of knowledge in the human brain and is therefore a complex intellectual activity. Reading skills to improve the other three kinds of skills have “outline program” effect. Mr. Ke Luoke, a famous scholar, has repeatedly advocated reading a lot of English as the main means of English teaching.
