台湾海峡位于我国福建省和台湾省之间,连接东海和南海,其平均深度不到50米,平均坡度小于1/50。海峡走向为东北——西南,加以盛行风向冬为东北、夏为西南,而太平洋的涌浪受台湾岛的阻挡不易传入海峡内,海浪的盛行方向亦与风向相同。在夏季常有台风侵袭,造成狂风大浪。故台湾海峡波浪主要可分为东北季风型、西南季风型和台风型三类。
The Taiwan Strait is located between Fujian Province of China and Taiwan Province, connecting the East China Sea and the South China Sea. Its average depth is less than 50 meters and its average gradient is less than 1/50.
