模糊性是世界上大多数语言的基本属性之一,中、英文中都有大量的模糊语言的存在。作为一种弹性语言,模糊语言比那些直白、准确的词句更具灵活性和概括性。在英语文学作品的翻译中,模糊语言翻译的恰当与否是评价一个译本优劣的重要环节。本文以英国小说家萨克雷的《名利场》为研究对象,重点研究其中模糊语言的翻译,并对不同中译本在不同翻译策略下产生的结果进行比较与分析,以期为相关翻译工作提供有价值的参考。
Fuzziness is one of the basic attributes of most languages in the world. There is a large number of vague language in Chinese and English. As a flexible language, vague language is more flexible and general than the straightforward and accurate words. In the translation of English literary works, the appropriateness of vague language translation is an important part of evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of a translation. This article focuses on the translation of vague language in the English novelist Saclay’s Vanity Fair, and compares and analyzes the results of different Chinese versions under different translation strategies in order to provide valuable translation work The reference.
