Alpha-2 antiplasmin is the most important plasma inhibitor of plasmin. This protein has a strong affinity for unbound plasmin and rapidly forms a 1: 1 molecular ratio complex. Plasmin-α 2 -anti-plasmin complexes are present in patients with severe bleeding disorders that are predominantly fibrinolytic activity.
