This paper introduces the development process of national standards and the related background of the “Symbols and Definitions in the Publication Standard of Metal Mechanics Performance Tests”, expounds the impact of this standard on the mechanical standards system and the revision of the system, and puts forward some suggestions on how to implement the standards.
