The generation method of adaptive mesh applied to the numerical research of estuary and harbor region is presented. It can overcome the difficulties that occurred in boundary fitting by using regular mesh in the simulation of hydrodynamics for the estuary of the Yangtze River and the Hangzhou Bay. Reasonable results are achieved.
