This paper analyzes the effect of aerodynamic heating on the structure and material of the fuze hood when the projectile is flying at high speed (greater than supersonic speed). For ease of use, a simple formula is introduced to estimate the temperature of the surface of the fuze cap as a reference when designing and selecting materials for the cap.
