当1996年4月17日,Oracle的CEO Larry Ellison举起一个小盒子之时,世界上第一台NC诞生了。1996年5月20日,非Wintel阵营的厂商们Apple、Netscape、Oracle、SUN、IBM在旧金山成立了NC联盟。当时的NC基于非主流芯片和非主流操作系统,遭到了Wintel的反对,一年之后,Wintel推出NetPC得到了13家主流PC厂商的支持,1997年2月我国湖南计算机厂也推出了自己的NC。但是由于NC不能满足人们天生对資源的贪婪,缺少品牌包装的原因,NC一直都处于市场低潮。在今天政府采购大环境之中,我们却看到了戏剧性的变化——
