The global telecommunications industry is shifting its focus to a mixed Asia-Pacific region, rich and poor. According to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), 31 countries in the Asia Pacific region have long been the largest market for telecommunications products and services in the world. The report of the International Telecommunication Union recognizes that the average power factor for the entire Asian region is only 5%, while the average number of phones in the world is 12%. But the report goes on to mention the current rate of growth. The report asserted: “In the coming years, the investment in the telecommunications market in the Asia Pacific region is forecast to exceed 300 billion U.S. dollars.”
