The incidence of cerebral infarction in 312 patients with acute cerebral infarction over the past 6 years was statistically analyzed. The peak incidence of cerebral infarction was found at 4 AM to 10 AM in the early morning and the urinary norepinephrine (NE) was detected in 52 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 42 healthy subjects ) Secretion and the activity of t-PA and PAI were measured. The results showed that the secretion rate of NE and the activity of PAI in the acute phase of acute cerebral infarction were significantly higher than those in the evening (P < 0.05). The activity of t-PA in early morning urine was significantly higher in PAI-activated cerebral infarction group than that in control group (P <0.05), t-PA activity was significantly lower than that in control group (P < 0.05). It is suggested that the abnormal changes of urinary NE, t-PA and PAI may be one of the important causes of cerebral infarction.
