日本特殊金属研究所的专家研制成一种不需要热处理的铸钢件。这种钢铸件,是在熔融的钢水浇进模子前,加入一种特殊的改性剂制成的。这样铸成的钢铸件,不仅不需要进行热处理,而且机械性能很高。在钢水中加入的改性剂,是一种主要成分为硼的氧化物的颗粒状物质。一吨钢水中只要加入100～300克即可。
Japan Institute of Special Metals experts developed a cast steel does not require heat treatment. The steel casting is made by adding a special modifier before the molten steel is poured into the mold. Steel castings cast in this way not only do not require heat treatment but also have high mechanical properties. The modifier added to the molten steel is a particulate material whose main constituent is an oxide of boron. A ton of molten steel as long as 100 to 300 grams can be added.
