Japan Idemitsu Petrochemical started feasibility studies for a new alpha olefin plant at Chiba Plant or elsewhere in Asia. The investment in the new device will cost 5 billion yen (equivalent to 48 million U.S. dollars) and will be operational by the end of 2002. The company will consider the implementation of this plan by the end of this year.
