在中华人民共和国成立40周年前夕,从西欧古代文明的发源地雅典传来了令我国学术界振奋的消息。在国际经济协会第九届世界大会上,我国著名经济学家罗元铮教授当选为执行理事会副主席。他是我国经济学界第一位在如此大型国际协会上被选举为重要领导成员的学者。罗元铮教授荣任此职,为我国加强国际交往,培养人才,更广泛地借鉴和丰富适合于社会主义的经济理论提供了一个大好的机会。
On the eve of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, there came news of the excitement of our academic community from Athens, the birthplace of ancient civilizations in Western Europe. At the 9th World Assembly of the International Economic Association, Professor Luo Yuanzheng, a famous economist in China, was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council. He is the first scholar in China’s economics field to be elected as an important member of leadership at such a large international association. Professor Luo Yuanzheng’s appointment to this post has provided a great opportunity for China to strengthen its international exchanges, train its personnel, and learn more from and enrich the economic theory that is suitable for socialism.
