毛竹竹鞭的嫩梢俗称鞭笋,味道鲜美,含多种人体所必需的氨基酸,是夏、秋季节名贵菜肴,但一般毛竹笋用林偏重于冬笋和春笋的培育与利用,对鞭笋的培育与利用注意不够,而致鞭笋的产量较低(一般每亩只有二、三十斤)。为探索鞭笋高产培育技术,提高笋用竹林经营的经济效益,我们于1981年至1983年,在鄞县爱中乡狮丰六队毛竹笋用林内,进行了鞭笋挖掘与培育试验。试验林面积5.06亩,三年共挖鞭笋7338斤,平均每亩每年挖鞭笋483斤,产值90.3元。鞭笋产量约占竹笋总产量的22%左右。

Whipped bamboo shoots output accounts for about 22% of the total output of bamboo shoots.
