“现代”并不只是代表艺术本体的前卫性,它更强调精神上站在时代前列。在传统日趋面具化的当今,出现在世纪末画坛上的现代水墨和现代书法则表现出对世俗潮流的斜视与不屑,他们针对着现实艺术存在的缺憾而努力;因而他们冷眼面对把玩笔墨的“最后贵族”,在激扬笔墨 中显示出义无反顾的当代人的情怀。本期推出的作者,当属此类,对他们而言,“画什么”与“写什么”并不重要,重要的是“怎么画”和“怎么写”;尽管这些作品仍属于“画家的画”,而非“公众的画”,但其探索精神的“实验”勇气则显示出无可替代的活力与新锐性。
“Modern” is not just an avant-garde on behalf of the body of art. It emphasizes more on the spirit of standing in the forefront of the times. Nowadays masquerading tradition, modern ink painting and modern calligraphy appearing in the end of the century show the staring and disdain for the secular trend, they are working hard for the shortcomings of the real art; therefore, they face the cold with the “ Last aristocrats ”, show up in the brushed pen and ink of contemporary people’s feelings. It is not important for them to write “what” or “what to write” for them. What matters are “how to draw” and “how to write”; although these works still belong to the “painter’s Painting ”instead of“ public painting, ”but its“ experimental ”courage to explore spirit shows irreplaceable vitality and newness.
