能否准确处理同名异人和同人异名的问题,是衡量人名索引编制质量的重要标志之一。前不久发表于《中华文史论丛》的拙撰《<汉书人名索引>疏误考辨》(以下省称《考辨》),即主要就中华书局一九七九年出版的《汉书人名索引》(以下省称索引)这方面问题而论的。其实,该索引存在的错误甚多,现除就误分误合外,并就其“一人而屡误分误合”、“漏收人物”、“漏收出处”、“出处相羼入”、“姓氏失于考索”、“异称收列未齐备”等方面的疏误,作进一步考辨。
