Simultaneous interpretation is much older than Consecutive interpretation. Until the end of World War II, follow-up translation has been the monopoly of the interpretation stage. However, there is an obvious drawback to this way of interpreting: it almost doubled the amount of time it takes for the exchange of ideas. The problem is more complicated if the participants speak three or more languages. In view of the increasing frequency of international exchanges, the pace of life and the pace of work, people are bound to explore a way of interpreting that will not only take time but also achieve the purpose of communication. It is in this context that simultaneous interpretation has evolved and developed.
