不久前到新宁,专门去寻访放生阁的遗址。放生阁座落在城北扶夷江畔的岩峰上,始建于宋,原名狮蹲阁,明代重修时,于其地掘得古碑一块,上镌“放生”两字,因而改名。清光绪十三年(1887)县城大火时被毁。这座古寺同时也是新宁的名胜,昔时山门上悬有联云:“细雨洒平潭,水面文章,连圈密点;清烟笼远岫,山间图画,淡写轻描。”潭即今崀山风景区内的莲潭,在岩峰之下,北去的扶夷江水于此折向东流,“莲
