Since World War II, Western developed countries are facing inflation. In order to make the people have confidence in economic growth and price stability, the management of prices has been strengthened. Now, we have made some suggestions on the management methods of the prices of the United States, France, and Japan. The U.S. Government’s Management of Prices (1) The Government’s Principles of Price Management. Both the US federal government and local governments manage prices. There are four basic principles for management: First, protect the interests of producers. The government should intervene in the prices of commodities that are vulnerable to competition, such as agricultural products. Second, to prevent price monopoly, the government must intervene and manage the prices of goods and services that are prone to monopoly or natural monopolies. The third is to control the prices of state-owned enterprises
