In order to understand the hemoglobin level of primary and middle school students in aquarium area and the prevalence of anemia, we measured whole blood hemoglobin in primary and secondary school students in Sandu County from 1992 to 1993. The results showed that the anemia rates of boys and girls aged from 7 to 12 were 24.30% and 23.44%, respectively, and the rates of anemia among boys and girls aged 13-18 were 27.60% and 45.75% The anemia rate of 18-year-old boys was not significant
