According to the U.S. publication “Energy Engineering”, No. 11, 1993, the recent IEA survey report said that in recent years, as the importance of alternative energy sources for petroleum, natural gas has gradually been accepted by many countries. In the five years up to 1992, the U.S. demand for natural gas increased by 13.5% to 19.53 trillion cubic feet. Moreover, with President Clinton advocating the use of natural gas, the U.S. demand will further increase in the future. According to the survey, the U.S. demand for natural gas in primary energy accounted for 23.7% of the total primary energy in 1991 and will increase to 24.5% by 2000 and 25.5% by 2010.
