在当今信息环境下,图书馆在信息获取方面正面临着无数的竞争者和挑战者。那种由于缺少竞争者而使图书馆成为人们解决其信息需求第一选择的时代已成为过去。高校图书馆也不例外。认识到这场针对其核心服务展开的竞争,新加坡国立大学图书馆(NUSL)通过进一步加强和提升以用户为中心的服务,努力使自己适应当今的信息环境。本文着眼于新加坡国立大学图书馆为不断维护自身作为一个公共教育服务机构所作的努力,这不仅仅是在传统的提供信息获取领域,也在发展其自身成为一个对其用户群来说是知识、灵感和生活场所方面。
In today’s information environment, libraries are facing countless competitors and challengers in terms of access to information. The era of libraries becoming the number one choice for people to address their information needs because of the lack of competitors is a thing of the past. University library is no exception. Recognizing this competition for its core services, the National Library of Singapore (NUSL) strives to adapt itself to today’s information environment by further enhancing and enhancing user-centric services. This article looks at the efforts of the National University of Singapore Library to continually defend itself as a public education service not only in the traditional provision of information but also in developing itself as a community of knowledge, Inspiration and places of life.
