作为“百代诗话之祖”,《诗品》集大成式的批评方法是它成为诗学经典的重要原因。从理论与批评的分野看,《诗品》既是一部理论著作,又是一部批评著作,这就把文学批评的广、狭二义融为一体,使诗学理论成为批评实践的升华和总结,又使具体的批评受理论指导,成为诗学理论座标上的交叉点。在集大成的批评方法中,“比较批评和历史批评以外,“摘句批评法”、“本事批评法”、“知人论世批评法”、“形象喻示批评法”也是其中重要的四种。以下对这些批评方法试加分析。
