在2003年即将结束之际,北京现代伊兰特的上市,对市场和消费者无疑都是惊喜,同时也是年终车市压轴的精彩一幕。12月23日,挟索纳塔突破5万辆的余威,北京现代汽车有限公司在北京饭店举行隆重仪式,正式发布伊兰特(Elantra)在中国上市的消息。北京现代此举兑现了“每年推一款新车”的承诺,同时也是继索纳塔之后打出的第二张“贺岁牌”。12月26日,青岛地区投放仪式在位于海尔路16号的青岛博达汽车销售有限公司举行。首批上市的是1.8升车型,手动挡豪华型和自动挡豪华型的定价分别为15.6万元和16.68万元。由于刚上市的是顶级款,所以价格与一些消费者的期待有距离,但据说1.6升车型将稍晚上市。出身背景北京版伊兰特是在韩国最新款第六代Elantra的基础上,根据中国道路状况和消费者需求,对外观、内饰、车体装备和发动机及变速器耐久性等四方面改进后推出的一款经典车型。对中国消费者来说,伊兰特还属于陌生的面孔,而在韩国和欧美等国际市场上,它却享有很高的知名度。自1990年10月第一代伊兰特在韩国诞生以来,伊兰特的全球销量已达310万辆,是韩国现代汽车公司销售最好的
