Over the years, people are constantly exploring various methods of treating kidney stones, but surgical removal is still the method of choice. Nephrolithiasis is limited to uric acid stones. Physical therapy such as ultrasonic lithotripsy or electrohydraulic gravel is only available for lower urinary tract stones. These physical therapies require direct contact between energy sources and stones. In six years, the author developed a method for nondestructive, non-invasive crushing of kidney stones in experimental animals. The principle is that the in-vitro shock waves are concentrated on the kidney stones or target. Shockwave is produced by a submerged high voltage capacitor spark discharge lasting one millionth of a second
