樂山古稱嘉州,漢屬犍爲郡。山川秀美,自古爲文人修真養性吟詩作文之地。西漢文學家、哲學家、語言學家揚雄廁身其間,在樂山、犍爲、五通橋、沐川等地留有遺迹,多載於地方史志中,筆者所知共有五處。第一處揚雄遺迹是最早載於史籍的樂山古城西的揚雄舊宅。北宋《新定元豐九域志》載:“延祥觀,舊名揚雄觀,本雄舊宅。至道三年賜額。”可知北宋時,人們已經認可了延
