明义《题红楼梦》第七首第二句是“不记金钗正幅图”。有人怀疑“正幅图”是“正副图”之误。钞本写的是“正幅”。《牡丹亭》里有“金钗”入“图”。对《牡丹亭.幽媾》的柳梦梅与杜丽娘的风流幽会,明义所见《红楼梦》将其变成宝玉在梦中和金钗(小名“颦颦”)的风流幽会。对《牡丹亭.写真》里的杜丽娘的题诗和柳梦梅的步韵,明义所见《红楼梦》将其变成了宝玉在梦中对金钗的题诗而步韵。在明义所见《红楼梦》里,宝玉梦见的是一幅图,而不是多幅图(十五幅图)。明义可能运用了“正”与“整”通假的知识。宝玉、颦颦与柳梦梅、杜丽娘,皆为“情痴”。《石头记》第51回薛宝琴的《梅花观怀古》,在明义所见《红楼梦》里,可能是宝玉写的“步韵”诗。
