许进(1896-1931),原名许统绪,广东潮安县庵埠人。他是中国共产党早期华侨运动领袖,国共合作时期的革命活动家,土地革命战争时期红七军领导人之一,广西百色起义领导人之一。许进于1896年11月出生于贫苦农民家庭,少年人私塾学习,后到庵埠镇香和等店铺当店员谋生。青年时期开始接受革命思想。受《新青年》思想影响,萌生为民族解放事业奋斗的理想。1916年,许进在新加坡一家百货商店工作,积极参加华侨反帝爱国斗争。1917年创办华侨工人夜校,宣传新思想新文化,主讲《华侨与祖国》专题课。1918年初被选为新加坡店员工会名誉主席。1919至1925年,先后在新加坡《新国民日报》、吉隆坡《益群日报》、仰光《觉民日
Xu Jin (1896-1931), formerly known as Xu Tongxu, Chaoan Anbu, Guangdong Province. He was a leader of the early Chinese movement in the Chinese Communist Party and a revolutionary activist during the Kuomintang-Communist cooperation. He was one of the leaders of the Red Army and a leader of the Baise Uprising in Guangxi during the Agrarian Revolutionary War. Xu Jin was born in November 1896 in a poor peasant family, young people private school learning, and later to the Anbu town incense and other shops as clerks make a living. Youth began to accept revolutionary ideas. Influenced by the thought of “new youth”, it sprung up for the ideal of striving for national liberation. In 1916, Xu Jin worked in a department store in Singapore and took an active part in the overseas Chinese anti-imperialist patriotic struggle. In 1917, an evening school for overseas Chinese workers was founded to publicize a new culture of new ideas and to give lectures on the topics entitled “Overseas Chinese and the Motherland”. In early 1918 was elected honorary chairman of the Singapore clerks union. From 1919 to 1925, successively in Singapore’s “New National Daily”, Kuala Lumpur, “Yiqun Daily”, Yangon "feel the people’s Day
