胡明扬,中国人民大学语言学教授,著名语言学家、语文教育家。1948年于上海圣约翰大学英文系毕业后参加革命从事外事工作;1952年调入中国人民大学从事英语教学,任语文系语言教研室主任、对外语言文化学院名誉院长,并先后担任国家语言文字工作委员会委员,北京市语言学会会长、名誉会长,中国语言学会副会长,中国对外汉语教学研究会顾问。2011年6月22日因病在北京逝世,享年八十六岁。本文系《雅言》报记者在胡先生逝世前对他做的专访。特刊发此文,以兹纪念。
Hu Mingyang, Professor of Linguistics Renmin University of China, a famous linguist, language educator. After graduating from the Department of English of St. John’s University in Shanghai in 1948, he joined the revolution in foreign affairs. In 1952, he was transferred to Renmin University of China for English teaching. He was the director of the Department of Language Studies and honorary dean of the Institute of Foreign Languages and Culture, and successively served as the national language writer Committee members, president of Beijing Language Institute, honorary president, vice president of Chinese Language Institute, Chinese Foreign Language Teaching Research Consultants. June 22, 2011 died of illness in Beijing, at the age of 86. This article is the “Ya-yan” newspaper reporter interviewed him before Mr. Hu’s death. Special issue of this article, in honor of it.
