文字改革是一件大事。教育部和中国文字改革委员会召开了这一次的全国文字改革会议来开展有关文字改革的具体步骤的讨论,是和整个国家建设事业有密切关系的。请让我代表中国科学院首先对会议的召开表示衷心的庆贺。中国文字,主要就是我们目前还在普遍使用着的汉字,作为中国言语的记录工具,已经有四千年左右的历史了。在这四千年中汉字对中国文化和中国人民文化生活的发展有了很大的贡献。我们的极其丰富的宝贵的文化遗产,绝大部分是通过汉字的记录被保留下来的。就在今天和今后相当长的一段
Text reform is a major event. The discussions held by the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Character Reform Commission on this special national word reform conference to carry out specific steps concerning the reform of the text are closely related to the cause of national construction as a whole.
