According to the General Administration of Customs, China’s foreign trade volume reached 523 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year, an increase of 39% over the same period of last year. Of this total, exports reached 258.1 billion U.S. dollars with imports of 264.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 36% and 43% respectively. The cumulative trade deficit was 6.8 billion U.S. dollars. In the month of June, China’s foreign trade set a number of monthly records and extended its trade surplus since May.
