2013年7月,我搭上横跨欧亚大陆的飞机,来到了一个高纬度的岛国——英国。英国由英格兰、苏格兰、威尔士和北爱尔兰组成联合王国,统于一个中央政府和国家元首。此行我只去了英格兰和苏格兰的一小部分。作为一个吃货,来到异乡,我首先想到的是有什么可以吃,什么比较好吃。出发前就听别人说过笑话,说是地狱的厨师来自英国。显然,意思是说英国食物的难吃程度世界闻名。于是我心想,把这当成一次挑战味蕾极限的机会算了,万一再有点儿意外收获呢?就这样,怀着一颗忐忑的心,我踏上了这片古老的土地。
In July 2013, I took a plane across Eurasia to a high latitude island nation, Britain. The United Kingdom consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom, and a Central Government and Head of State. I’ve traveled to only a small part of England and Scotland. As a food, came to a foreign land, I first think of what can eat, what is more delicious. Listen before someone else joked that hell’s chef from England. Obviously, it means that the world is known for the unpalatable quality of British food. So I thought, take this as a chance to challenge the limit of taste buds forget, in case a little accidental harvest? In this way, with a dirty heart, I set foot on this ancient land.
