From the 1950s to the 1960s, a writer in the United States classified the emotions of Hemingway’s works as a “lost generation.” After that, the “Beat Generation” became a feature of European and American youths with the increase of hippies and drug addicts. From the late 1960s to the late 1970s, the tide of resistance in the Third World countries, the storm of the Anti-Vietnam War in the United States, and the student movement in France and West Germany formed the common characteristics of youth during this period: the “generation of resistance.” In the 90’s, where did the European youth’s ideological life go? “They are a generation that has taken the plunge.” European experts say.
