Chuang Tzu is an ideological thinker earlier established in the history of Chinese aesthetics; the western modernist established the western ugly school and transformed the Western perceptual theory from the aesthetic first category to the ugly one. The similarities and differences between the two can be summed up in four aspects: different ways of expression; different ways of “ugly beauty”; “alienation” of different works; daydreams of different emotions. The origins of the differences between the Zhuangzi ugly study and the western modernist ugly study lie in the “precocious” ideology of the Chinese nation relative to the West. From the perspective of humanistic concept, however, Chinese and Western ugly schools are heterogeneous.
