上海地区散落在民间的器乐曲一共有多少?一争以前,当市文化局接到由国务院专门成立的“中国艺术学科规范领导小组”要求普查的通知时,谁都认为上海地区实在没多少民间音乐。就以市郊流传甚广的“江南丝竹”为例,除有名的“八大曲”外,其余名不见经传的所有曲目恐怕也只五、六十首。然而不查不知道,一查确实吓一跳。普调的结果是:“江南丝竹”目前有496曲;这是个令人大大吃惊的数字。吹打乐曲,——解放前专为人家办红白喜事的吹吹打打,原来知道的也不过十几首,现在竟有147首之多; 宗教音乐——上海佛寺和道观本来不多,但这次一查,居然也有346首之多。再加上其它一些零星乐曲,总数加起
