In 1935, I left school two years before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War and started a self-taught and writing life in Shanghai. I also participated in the Salvation Movement of that time. In early 1938 joined the Chinese Communist Party in Wuhan. Although we can say that we have been working tirelessly for the party and for the revolution for more than 60 years, our achievements have been very limited. My job is mainly in writing, the result is only a small pile of books. Recalling the past writing career, I once said: “Although the articles I wrote in my whole life, although some may be said to be more or less academic, in general, none of them are not relevant to the politics at that time The politics here speaks in a broader sense.) There are few articles that can be said to be ”purely academic,“ and I do not regret it. ”
