从2011年开始到不久之前的《最后一代》,程然在麦勒画廊的三次展览主题都是从某个概念的点出发,并以此扩展出整个展览的表达结构的。如在《物各有时》中以一段不完整的手机录音为线索的情景重构、用马的三种性格比喻来剪接出的《热血,温血,冷血》中未知的影像空间等。而这次《最后一代》的展览名称则是直接引用自美国作家Steffan Postaer于2003年发表的同名小说,并围绕着程然的原创小说《昼夜之渐》展开。在展厅中搭建起的木质装置,首先将《昼夜之渐》中1 5万字的文本作为定语陈列进螺旋型的“阅览室”结构中,同时抄录在程然于不同地方旅行及工作期间收集的大量废纸片上的小说片段,也在
