金塔县金塔镇边沟村地处城郊, 距县城仅3公里,有强村富民的天时地利。但过去由于人心涣散．班子凝聚力不强,产业结构单一,城郊优势没能得到有效发挥,致使群众收入不高。近年来,村两委班子把带领群众共同致富作为一切工作的出发点和落脚点,通过支部引导、党员带头、群众参与,走出了一条依靠城郊优势和特色产业强村富民的路子。边沟村也因此成了全镇经济强村和远近闻名的“大村”。
