巩俐和同仁们的努力,辛苦没有白费。《大红灯笼高高挂》制作完成后,不久即参加了第四十八届意大利威尼斯电影节,一口气获得五项大奖,分别是:银狮奖(最佳影片第二名),国际影评人协会大奖,金格利造型特别奖,天主教影评人奖和艾维诺塔莉特别奖。这在中国电影史上又是一个绝无仅有。1992年春,参加美国第六十四届奥斯卡金象奖评选的《大红灯笼高高挂》再一次得到最佳外语片提名。尽管最后未能金榜提名,但说明,中国影坛巩俐时代就要到来。
Gong Li and colleagues work hard at ease. Shortly after attending the 48th Venice Venice Film Festival, five awards were won in one breath: the Silver Lion Award (2nd best film), international film critic Association Award, Special Award for the Gingale Modeling, the Catholic Film Critics Award and Avril Lethal Special Award. This is another unique history of Chinese film.
