钾与氮和磷组成了植物 3种基本养料。在农业中 ,还没有钾化合物的替代物。它们是保证扩大粮食生产的所必需的。用地下开采和溶液采矿法从古代埋藏的蒸发岩中开采钾盐。大多数钾盐是由这种矿床中得来的。钾的另一个重要来源是与陆地相连的海水 (如死海、大盐湖等 )获得的。世界上生产的 95 %钾产品都用于农业。其余的用于玻璃制造、肥皂、塑料和制药业中。目前 ,3个钾盐生产厂家 (IMC、PCS和Agrium公司 )经营着加拿大萨斯喀彻温地区 8个常规采矿的钾矿山和 2个溶液采矿的钾矿山。其中 5个矿山有浮选回路 ,两个矿山有重介质选矿 -浮选回路 ,两个矿山有强迫结晶回路 ,一个矿山有自然结晶回路。
Potassium and nitrogen and phosphorus constitute the plant three kinds of basic nutrients. In agriculture, there is no substitute for potassium compounds. They are necessary to ensure the expansion of food production. Potash was extracted from ancient buried evaporites by underground mining and solution mining. Most of the potash comes from this deposit. Another important source of potassium is the seawater (such as the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake, etc.) associated with the land. 95% of the potassium produced in the world is used in agriculture. The rest is used in the glass making, soap, plastic and pharmaceutical industries. Currently, three potash producers (IMC, PCS and Agrium) operate eight conventional potash and two solution-mined potash mines in Saskatchewan, Canada. Among them, five mines have flotation circuits. Two mines have a heavy medium beneficiation-flotation circuit. Two mines have forced crystallization circuits and one mine has a natural crystallization circuit.
