进入现代化建设和改革开放新的历史时期以来,党中央和邓小平同志一再强调要把我们党建设成为领导社会主义现代化事业的坚强核心。制止动乱、平息反革命暴乱之后,以江泽民同志为核心的党中央也十分突出地强调了要加强党的执政地位,发挥党的领导作用问题。加强党的执政地位,发挥党的领导作用,是我们党在新的历史时期加强党的自身建设所要达到的一个根本目标。只有牢牢地把握这一目标,以此为出发点和落脚点,把它放到统领全局的位置,党的建设才能有明确的方向,才能真正切实地抓好。
Since entering the new historical period of modernization and reform and opening up, Comrade Deng Xiaoping and the Central Party Committee have repeatedly stressed the importance of building our party into a strong nucleus of leading the cause of socialist modernization. After ending the unrest and quelling the counter-revolutionary riots, the party Central Committee with Comrade Jiang Zemin as the core also highlighted the issue of strengthening the party’s ruling position and giving play to the leading role of the party. To strengthen the party’s ruling position and to give full play to the leading role of the party is one of the fundamental goals to be achieved by our party in strengthening the party’s self-construction in the new historical period. Only by firmly grasping this goal, using it as a starting point and ending point, can we put it in the position of guiding the overall situation so that the building of the party can have a clear direction and we can really grasp it.
