近千年前宋辽“澶渊之盟”，是有积极意义的重大历史事件。宋真宗赵恒利用“澶渊之役”，抓住了由“战辽”倒“和辽”的转折点，实现了“和辽”的重大战略决策。从此，宋辽双方形成共存双和的局面达百年之久，成为中国古代历史上“汉蕃和好”的佳话。宋辽双方都为此作出了妥协和让步，都是“屈而不辱”。赵恒作为这一历史事件的关键人物之一，其各项举措大致不错，尚不失为有识有谋有为的君主。
Nearly a thousand years ago Song and Liao “Qiong Yuan League” is a major historic event with positive significance. Emperor Song Zhao Zongli used the “Battle of Qi Yuan” to seize the turning point from “Liao” to “Liao” and realized the major strategic decision of “He Liao”. Since then, both sides of the Song and Liao Dynasty have formed a coexistence and double situation for a hundred years, becoming the story of “harmony of the Han and the Han Dynasty” in ancient Chinese history. Both the Song and Liao sides made compromises and concessions for this purpose, all of which are “giving up and not insulting”. As one of the key figures in this historical event, Zhao Heng has generally taken various initiatives and is still a well-informed and determined monarch.
