MODU is an interdisciplinary firm specializing in intelligent design of buildings and people, with headquarters in New York and branch offices in London. Many architectural projects have been completed in New York, Miami, Chicago, London and Athens. Co-organized by Phu Hoang and Rachely Rotem, the company has won awards in a number of international design competitions including core77, the Age of Creativity, Basel Art, the New York Architectural Alliance and shiftboston. The assembly sequence of the structural assembly structures is designed to minimize complex manufacturing and construction. The structural members will be standard hollow profile steel tubes that will be made into modular parts to facilitate transport to the site. On the ground, the pipe parts will be welded and lifted into place. These structural steel pipes will be attached to a solid concrete foundation that rests on the ground (without an underlying ground foundation).
