Overview According to preliminary statistics, in 1975, there were 31 phosphate rock mines, 30 natural sulfur mines, 18 pyrite and 18 potash mines in the major countries and regions exploiting basic chemical raw materials such as phosphorus, sulfur and potassium. In 1974, the total output value of phosphorus, sulfur and potassium reached 6.86 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 0.154% of the world's total industrial and agricultural output. The output value of phosphorus, sulfur and potassium in various countries takes up a disproportionate share of the GNP of their national economies, with 11.13% in Morocco, 0.37% in the Soviet Union and 0.155% in the United States. The share of the country's phosphorus, sulfur and potassium mineral value in its mining output is 7.1% in Canada, 4.9% in the Soviet Union, 4% in West Germany and 3.9% in the United States. In recent years, the development of foreign chemical minerals, the main table
