对产品质量检验机构的计量检测工作进行监督检查,是保证其工作质量的有效手段。为此,《中华人民共和国计量法》第22条作了专门规定:“这社会提供公证数据的产品质量检验机构,必须以省级以上人民政府计量行政部门对其计量检定、测试的能力和可靠性考核合格”。在《中华人民共和国计量法实施细则》中,把这种考核称为对产品质量检验机构的计量认证。
