B7-1 and B7-2, two important members of the B7 family, mediate the induction of costimulatory Th cells into Th1 and Th2 cells. Th1 and Th2 cells secrete two different types of cytokines, respectively, which play a very important role in the development of autoimmune diseases. CTLA4Ig regulates the differentiation direction of Th cells by blocking B7-1 and B7-2, so as to achieve the effect of treating autoimmune diseases. It is a promising immunomodulatory drug.
